Long-term care is ongoing medical and non-medical care you receive to perform everyday activities.
In some situations, you or a family member may need ongoing medical and non-medical care to perform everyday activities. This is called long-term care (or custodial care).
Long-term care is often provided at home, but it can also be given in an assisted living facility or nursing home.
Word to the wise: Most health insurance plans don’t cover long-term care services. Before making decisions on long-term care for yourself or a family member, talk to your insurer.
