A type of insurance coverage that pays for some or all of your medical costs.
Health insurance is a type of insurance coverage that pays for some or all of the costs for things like checkups, illnesses, surgeries, injuries and conditions. There is usually a monthly premium (opens in new tab) and a deductible (opens in new tab), but as you incur costs, your health insurance plan can reimburse you for expenses or pay whoever provided the care directly.
Health insurance is generally obtained through an employer or purchased through a health insurance company like Oscar. If you plan on applying for subsidies (opens in new tab) to help pay for your health insurance premium, you should enroll through the health insurance Marketplace (opens in new tab).
