Finding a new doctor and booking an appointment is easy with your Oscar account.

Finding a new doctor the old fashioned way is like trying to find a date without an app or website. The process can be time-consuming, convoluted, and disappointing.
You start by asking your friends and family if they know a good doctor. Then you look at their website to see if they take your insurance. Then you call to see if they have an appointment. On the off-chance the doctor is actually taking new patients, you often have to wait weeks to see someone in person.
Here at Oscar, we think there should be a better way to find great doctors and book appointments when you need them. That’s why we recently rolled out two new account features: enhanced doctor profiles and Book Now appointment scheduling.
Enhanced doctor profiles
Many doctors in Oscar’s network have a unique profile, which you can find by searching on hioscar.com (opens in new tab) or in the app. In addition to getting a visual refresh, these profiles now also provide more detailed information about doctors’ experience and qualifications.
A doctor who may be a good fit will have a Compatibility section in their profile. This section highlights factors that make them a match for you.
Profiles also include additional background information on doctors, including:
Common conditions treated
Associated hospitals
License number
Education
Related doctors
All this data can help you decide who to see – without having to rely on questionable advice from friends or randos on the internet.
Book Now – online appointment scheduling
You can book a haircut, spin class, or dinner online—so why not a visit to the doctor? Now, members in New York and San Antonio can book appointments through Oscar, and save time and money in the process.
How does it work? Doctors participating in the Oscar Partner Program integrate directly with hioscar.com so you can schedule a visit at a time that works for both of you. These partners commit to a deeper level of integration with us. They test upcoming features, adopt new technology, and set aside appointments specifically for Oscar members. They also participate in joint clinical initiatives that help our members get the highest quality care. If you see a photo or appointment availability in a doctor’s profile, you know they’re with the Program.
The new Book Now feature allows you to find in-network doctors in your area who have appointments available. You can then book directly online.
The process works like this:
Step 1: Select your health issue.
Step 2: Select your availability.
Step 3: See available doctors in your area and their openings.
Step 4: Book an appointment online.
Doctors in your area with available appointments will automatically appear at the top of the search results.
If you’ve already used the search feature to research doctors and find one you like, you can now book directly through a doctor’s profile as well.
