Oscar's priority throughout the COVID-19 pandemic has been to make sure each member gets the right care at the right time without fearing the costs – including the COVID-19 vaccine.
Now that the U.S. has recommended COVID-19 vaccines,1 we are working to help our members get immunized as quickly as possible. Oscar will cover the COVID-19 vaccine at $0 co-pay wherever it is available,2 such as at your local pharmacy like CVS.3Vaccines are widely available for everyone 6 months and older. You can find more information and Oscar resources below. Your Oscar team is here for you and will continue to support you as the situation evolves.
At-home COVID test reimbursement
If you are an active member enrolled in individually purchased health care or on a small group plan, you can be reimbursed for up to 8 tests (not 8 test kits) per 30 day period. Reimbursement doesn’t apply to Medicare Advantage plans. Additionally, you are able to order free at-⁠home testing kits directly from the federal government via this site: https://www.covidtests.gov/ Read our FAQs for more information.

Should I visit an ER?

Here are some indications that you may need to be evaluated and treated in an ER:
  • Shortness of breath
  • Coughing up blood
  • Chest pain
  • Fainting or feeling like you might faint
  • Confusion or altered mental status
  • If you feel you are having a medical emergency, don’t delay care and go to the ER!

Oscar will cover at no cost share COVID-19 immunizations within 15 business days after the immunization has been recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and adopted by the CDC, and as required under applicable state laws and regulations.
Oscar covers the COVID-19 vaccine at $0 co-pay for members with Individual & Family and Small Group plans. Oscar Medicare Advantage members, please note that the cost of both the COVID-19 vaccine and the associated visit(s) will be covered at $0 co-pay. Oscar is working with providers to make sure that they submit claims to Original Medicare.
Cigna + Oscar members, please note that COVID-19 vaccines are covered upfront when administered at a local Express Scripts-affiliated facility (This is not an all-inclusive list of pharmacies, and is subject to change at Express Scripts’s discretion). Members who receive the vaccine at another facility will need to submit a reimbursement form directly to Express Scripts. The form can be submitted electronically through your Express Scripts account.
