Our new location at One Hudson Square will support our rapid growth, collaborative culture, and ambitious missionBy Kerry Van Voris, Chief People Officer, OscarAs Oscar’s Chief People Officer, part of my role is to ensure we live up to one of Oscar’s core beliefs: that we are powered by our people. We are constantly investing in our employees, recruiting and supporting diverse talent, and bringing our team together to change health care for the better and take care of our members. This is why I was proud to join Oscar three years ago, and why I am just as proud today to announce our latest investment in our people: Oscar has officially moved into our new headquarters in New York’s One Hudson Square. After almost seven years at the Puck Building in New York’s Soho, we’ve officially outgrown our original headquarters. Our new space will support the fast growth of our employee base, especially on our technology team, which builds the tools and resources that help our members navigate the health care system. But this is about more than just square feet. We partnered with WeWork to design an office that supports the different ways our people work and promotes collaboration, which is critical as we work to solve some of health care’s most complicated issues. In our new office, employees from a range of backgrounds -- technologists, product designers, clinicians, marketers, and more -- have the space they need to work together. An organized open-floor plan and numerous breakout spaces -- including closed meeting rooms, individual booths, and open lounges -- will ensure we work together efficiently and collaboratively. This incredibly designed space supports our commitment to technology-driven member engagement; we can’t successfully engage our members if we’re not engaging each other, and our new office enables us to come together to rethink health care. Our move to a new headquarters arrives at a great moment for Oscar. Fueled by our founding vision of a technology-driven, consumer focused health insurer, we now count more than 1,000 employees across four offices as part of the Oscar family. Together, these employees serve more than 255,000 members across nine states. The $1.2 billion raised since our founding -- including 2018’s $375 million investment from Google parent company Alphabet -- have supported this growth, enabling us to expand to new markets and products to bring our approach to health care to more people.I am immensely proud of the hard work -- across the entire Oscar team -- that has brought us to this moment. At the same time, Oscar’s new headquarters is only one milestone on a long journey. Plenty of worthwhile work is ahead, and I know that our new office will be an ideal home for the exceptional employees that support our mission every day.Oscar Headquarters Facts
